Springfield Armory M6 Scout

A combination single shot firearm, usually available in .22 LR and .410 shotshell, although there is a model chambered in .22 Hornet and .45 Long Colt. Spare ammo can be stored in the rear of the stock. A lot of M6 owners tie paracord around the stock or even the barrel since this is often viewed as a survival rifle. It’s fairly lightweight, can fold and be taken down easily, and uses relatively cheap bulk ammo. (GRH)

Armi Jager AP-74

This is an Italian made .22 LR copy of the M16A2 rifle. From a distance, it looks like the real thing but the magazine is not removable. Instead, a smaller .22 LR magazine is inserted through the open bottom of the fake magazine and sits flush. Fairly uncommon since they are no longer made, finding parts is a painful task. (GRH)

The Rimfire Report: How Long Will Your .22LR Suppressor Last Firing 223/5.56?

Suppressors are great tools. Were it not for their status as an NFA item I reckon they’d be a far more common sight. Because of their status as NFA items, suppressors have attained a somewhat enigmatic reputation both inside and outside the firearms world. This mystery often leads to misunderstanding, confusion and apparently $200 tax […]

TFB LIGHTNING REVIEW: Colt Woodsman, Having A Blast With The Past

TFB Review: Colt WoodsmanMost of our reviews here at TFB involve more modern products that are still available from manufacturers.  However, after borrowing a family member’s Colt Woodsman, I was pleasantly surprised with it.
