A Croation soldier taking time to pose for a photograph. He’s equipped with a seldom seen variant of the Yugoslavian M72, the M72AB1. What made it unique was that it had an underfolding stock; one of the few RPK variants that attempted to try a more compact design. You don’t often see photos of the M72AB1 during the conflicts in Croatia, Serbia, Yugoslavia; they have been seen in Iraq, being put to use by private military contractors and Iraqi forces and militants alike.
